Call For Entries
This short film competition created by the Waynesboro Cultural Commission is open to residents of Virginia and the contiguous states of West Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina in two age categories: Youth 20 and under and Adults 21+. Your submission should be no longer than 16 minutes in length (including credits). All genres of short film are welcomed. Enter your short film to win cash prizes and a chance to have your film screened with other finalists in Waynesboro, Virginia.
Entries with a completed registration form and $10 registration fee MUST be received by the Waynesboro Cultural Commission by 5pm, April 4, 2014 or postmarked by that date. Finalists will be selected from the submissions and screened on May 3, 2014 (finalists will be notified of the screening details). Winners in each age category will be announced at the screening. There will also be an audience choice award.

About the Waynesboro Cultural Commission
The Waynesboro Cultural Commission was established in May 1997 by City Council. The purposes and duties of the Commission, as set forth in City Council Ordinance 1997-17 are:
1. coordinate the promotion and support of existing cultural activities and events in the Waynesboro area and support the development of new cultural organizations.
2. act in an advisory capacity to City Council on matters relating to cultural activities,
3. act as an advisory board to the City of Waynesboro with respect to grants and financial assistance to local cultural organizations,
4. assist, coordinate and help to plan cultural activities by cultural organizations represented on the Commission by non-voting members, as well as any not so represented, and
5. seek to cooperate with all agencies, public and private in the promotion of and education in the cultural activities in the City and surrounding areas.
